What are you expecting to change?

Did you type a GM command?

What did you type?

Perhaps you are getting the syntax wrong for the command.

Modify the column you need to modify then select another row or column, then save the changes.

Or you can use a script to modify the SQL

I can give you an example when I have my DB in front of me but I can't do it right now or I will type something wrong and it will not work.

Some thing like this...

Open a new query window while you are connected to the databases and in the window

Code:
use
Arcadia
UPDATE [Arcadia].[dbo].[NPCResource] SET[spawn_type] = 0 WHERE [contact_script] LIKE '%Secroute%'
Except where NPCResource is put Character, and where spawn_type is put the column name for Permission, contact_script gets replaced with what the character name column is, and Secroute can be replaced with your characters name.

Then select execute SQL and it will change your permission.

i did this
Arcadia
UPDATE [Arcadia].[dbo].[Character] SET[permission] = 1 WHERE [name] LIKE [GM]Authentic

and the message is : Msg 102, Level 15, State 1, Line 2
Incorrect syntax near 'Authentic'.

and again nothing changed

Try this ...:
Code:
USE Arcadia
UPDATE [Arcadia].[dbo].[Character]  SET permission = 1  WHERE name LIKE '%[GM]Authentic%';
But mostly the right permission is 100.
And just learn the right syntax for SQL. At least google it perhaps ...!? There are enough pages who describe such easy stuff.

Dont work 0 errors but nothing changed
06/13/2013 19:56 Player95#13
Well I was a bit brainless ...
The Arcadia database does not contain any Character table. It must be the Telecaster database:

Code:
USE [B]Telecaster[/B]
UPDATE dbo.Character
SET permission = 1  WHERE name LIKE '%[GM]Authentic%';
06/13/2013 20:09 rickske95#14
<3 its working thank you!
06/13/2013 20:34 ThunderNikk#15
oops yeah telecaster and permission should still be 100 for GM commands.

Glad to hear that it is working.

Thanks Player95

Good luck with the [GM] tag though, the brackets break the v1.opt file and your window placements will never save for you.

Keep an eye on the size of the v1.opt file in the client because it can get huge being saved to like a giant hard drive.
