Really Good Idea!

People are unfortunately losing interest. The Private Server scene could use some more coders and 3D modelers to actually improve the game, not just keep editing things over and over again.

Improve with what? Most of Devs are way too fk*d up to share any tools and stuff like that.. so yeah P.Servers will die soon. :)

About time you figured it out. The Private Server scene won't ever be as it used to be.

"Could use some more coders..." - What for ? We have some truly great developers to thank out there, like lilprohacker, [GM]Father and a few others, not to mention castor, who is still here and doing his best for this community. They built the base, now those who want to have or already have (a) private server(s) have this responsibility of using the knowledge for the right purpose.

"...and 3D modelers..." - Since when were we able to edit the 3D models ? I'm pretty confused about this actually. If you're referring to weapons, yea, modifying the 3D object is good, but we lack gear editing(3DC), SMOD editing.
You and your buddy TeddyBear94 think that now since you convert weapons from Aion you're 3D modelers, you're wrong, you're just using a tool.

You'll say I lack common sense, but from the whole thing you said, doesn't coding and 3D modeling already means editing ? You're not creating something from scratch, mostly every single thing that happened to Shaiya was just editing something. Very few people are capable of actually creating something, again the same names, lilprohacker at the top.

the problem with shaiya now basically with the private servers are that they are so many servers and almost most of them close in a soon period making ppls lose time, the intresting of playing in a server..maybe money too if they had donate in a server..and the other prob that i think there is..is that all the ADM's should help each other..so they can keep their servers on..Finally i think they should stop editing the items on shaiya and they should basically improve the gameplay i mean to make it more entertement for the ppls..

What I was referring to in my post above is that Shaiya needs some custom created content, and to do such the community does need motivated people with knowledge.
Since the game and community is dying, it most likely won't happen.

I actually never converted Aion weapons, TeddyBear did that, I am converting Silkroad content (not just Weapons, my next goal is to import static objects, as 3dc bone conversion does not work properly and the tool developer has given up on shaiya .3dc files) and I am also looking forward to move to other games content as well. I've received requests to convert some Skyrim weapons, which I will try when I get the time for it. As mentioned above, we need motivated people with knowledge, and if we work together, it can be done. I have no programming or coding knowledge, not even 3D modeling, but the use of multiple tools to convert existing content into Shaiya is a good start. I don't see any issues if a 3D modeler would want to create content for Shaiya, as I should be able to convert it and apply it in game, as long as it is static (no bones or animations). Someone with 3D modeling knowledge might bones and animations to work.

I've been actually working on it about 2 years ago, and quit because it didn't work. Recently TeddyBear told me the trick was that one of the tools has to be purchased, cracked versions do not work. I did not want to spend money on a tool that is not proven to work, if I had enough spare money back then, we'd had those results 2 years ago when the community was still more active.

don't think so, I can see just a big amount of servers full, to many ppl still playing this, and they don't get bored..

I don't believe private servers will die out anytime soon.

There are plenty of people that love Shaiya, and plenty of people with the tools to create a place to have fun, with their own personal contributions.

This site is living proof of that.

Hello everyone. I have a question.. I have this problem with Shaiya US, I want to play but I can't. I have this Low Fps issue. I have turned off absolutelly everything from settings that can make it laggy, but it still goes on. And I don't have problems either with my laptop, look at my dxdiag:

When I'm in Auction House everything is like 1-2 FPS, even if everything from graphic options is off, shake cam is off...
I could use some help, I really want to play.

that is OS for you and i and SOOOOO many others have felt your pain over the years. AH is a small map and to have it flooded with 60+ players at once is no picnic for anybody. When i was playing OS fulltime (back in VERY late EP3 up to mid EP4) my laptop was a POS i couldnt go to Gliter without crippling lag. Once i had to have a guildy log into my account and move my toon out of town for me just so i could grind.

to my knowledge there is no real cure for the lag without spending money building up your PC or getting better net connection.

Is the offical server still playable?
I was bewildered after i see the pets. :/
This is not shayia anymore for me.

Ikr. Those old days were just fun. They turned shaiya into something else now, unfortunately.
