Hide Skype IP

Hey guys,
A lot of server owners have been threatened with "ddossing" their home network and stuff.
The so called "hackers" use skype resolvers to get your IP.
I know, this shouldn't be in this section, but i'd like to help the Shaiya server owners and players ofcourse.

So here's how to protect your skype from being resolved.
Just follow these 9 steps.

1. Uninstall your Skype.
2. Download Skype Beta (Found [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]).
3. Once it's installed, log in to your skype.
4. Go to Tools (In your top bar).
5. Press Options (Last one).
6. Click Advanced in the tab that just opened.
7. Go to the Connection tab.
8. Check the box "Allow direct connections to your contacts only."
9. Restart skype (Quit Skype --> Start Skype).

Now the "Skype resolvers" will either not get an IP (Error: Failed to resolve the skype name. (on Skypegrab.com))
Or it will run for half an hour, then it shows a Microsoft IP.

Basically what this does, is it prevents people not in your friend list (in this case the IP scraper bots) to connect to your skype. That way they cannot get your IP.

(This will not prevent your server being attacked, this just prevents people trying to get your home IP through skype.
You are never completely safe.)


Please spread this message, as i'd like everyone to be a little more secure in the comfort of their own home.

But yeah, it's an old trick, alot of people already use it.
Though a LOT of people don't. That way they get "hacked" (Mostly just kids using a booter)

Why in shaiya as you say well, let's say this in shaiya at of any other type of private server mmo well the kids just attack personal pcs with their skype ports by resolving their username that is why. (MAIN REASON Shaiya + Skype got worse.)
