Cannot Connect Issue

Ok, so I have never had this problem before.... I have setup several servers before toying with the 8.1 server files but all of a sudden this is happening:

I can login to my account select a character and log into the game, but as soon as I do i get a notice:

"Notice: Cannot connect to the server. Please try again later."

Then about 2 mins later I get disconnected.

I have event buffs setup in the on_login script and it says they are loaded fine but they do not appear.... which I'm guessing has something to do with not being able to connect to the server....

Any ideas as to why this is happening?

And you still refer to yourself as a "real dev"

A real dev would have taken a look at his/her gamelog.txt and/or looked at the captainherlock display window and noticed the big smp error that is printed every single time you see that in game. I have been retired months now and I can still tell you exactly what the problems are.

Some releases by default have a missing dbo.Paiditem and/or improperly configured smps

Example:

dbo.smp_check_purchased_item (Check for dbo.billing.xxxx and remove all but the .xxxx)

dbo.smp_takeout_purchased_item (again dbo.billing.xxxx)

There is another one but I am too tired atm to remember it. Hope it helps.

Ah there you are Smokey.... been wondering if you'd poke your obnoxious nose out of the wood work for one of my posts... <3 you babe... ;)

And I'm a server developer as in I develop the servers themselves not the network details. Not my specialty and you should know that by now.

I'll see about it tomorrow though.... too late now, I'm heading to bed.

Not really a network detail if it is an SMP issue.

Your server is crashing when it tries to run the SMP. Server crash will take any network down.

Ok someone tell me where these so called dbo.smp..... are..... I can't find them anywhere......

Database...

Programmability folder...

Stored Procedures folder

Try again.... I have a System Databases with master, model, msdb, and tempdb folders of which none have any of the dbo.smp.... they have a bunch of sys.sp..... and the master has 2 dbo.sp.... but no dbo.smp anything

Anyone else care to give it a shot?

Damn, don't you think they are in the databases related to Rappelz ...?

In the Datatbases you restored.

Arcadia Telecaster and Auth.

You will find a folder called programability in each one.

In there you will find a folder called Stored Procedures.

In there you will find the stored procedures.

What kind of server development do you do exactly?

Come on, mate...
05/02/2013 01:01 HeavenOnlyWishes#11
oh... right.... duh...... I'm still under the impression that people generally put a full path not a partial one.... :p

Telecaster > Programmability > Stored Procedures > dbo.smp_xxxx_xxx_xxx > (right click) > Modify > Make Change > (right click) > Execute > Close
