Help with NON Hamachi Server

04/11/2013 19:52 numb3rone#1
Hi I am trying to allow other clients from other computers connect to my server without hamachi. I have tried the methods in these 2 links, but they don't work.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

I have search everywhere, and followed everything step by step and still no luck.

1 - My test client is on the same PC that the server is on. And I am able to connect when all of the ip's are 127.0.0.1 in the client and server channellist.csv and loginlist.csv and also in the cast, session, login, dekaronserver .cfg's.

I have fowarded all of the ports 50005 and 7880 and used a port checker and they are all open.

2 - But when I try to make it live and allow other clients from other computers connect to my server, it says cannot connect to server.

- In my channellist.csv and loginlist.csv i have the EXTERNAL ip on the client and server files.

- In my cast, session, dekaronserver .cfg i have tried a combination of 127.0.01 because people said you don't have to change this. I have also tried my EXTERNAL ip, but they didn't work.

On my login.cfg i have tried my INTERNAL ip like other threads said and it doesn't work. I also tried my external and 127.0.0.1 and still it doesn't work.

I have also made a dynamic DNS account and added the following lines in my hosts file and still doesn't work.

1. Go to Start. Then Run.
2. Type. C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc\
3. This will open a folder, Click on Host.file and open it with Notepad/Wordpad.
4. At the end of the file add the following.

CODE
127.0.0.1 (Dynamic DNS)
(Internal IP) (Dynamic DNS)
(External IP) (Dynamic DNS)

P.S. My Internal IP i got from running CMD and typing ipconfig
My external IP i got from websites whatsmyip.com
my dynamic DNS i made a free online hosting.

I don't know what I am missing here, or if there is some missing information. Someone please help me.

1 : at server side config.ini add IP 127.0.0.1
2 : at server side and client side share @ channel and loginlist add the ip you get from this site [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
3:go to cmd.exe > enter ipconfig > check ur gateway adress(192.168.0.1 or something)
4: @ at ipconfig also check ur IPv4 adress
5: enter the adress in ur browser
6 : forward these ports (7880 and 50005 "TCP/UDP") and at IP Adress add here ur IPv4 adress enable all and try login.

this works fine on me. friends can connect me on my external IP so should work for u.

]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.

Hi conquer93, can you look in your login cfg.ini and tell me if you have your external, internal, or your local ip address in there.

UPDATE

I set everything to public on firewall and I even turned off my fire wall. it still don't work.
P.S. the client and server is on the SAME computer. I am just trying to make it work here first then I will know it will work for other people clients.

04/14/2013 05:18 numb3rone#11
i've tried (local host) 127.0.0.1
i've tried internal IP
i've tried external IP
i've disabled the firewall
i've foward all the ports

Nothing works. I hope someone that actually made a working public server would lend me a hand here. Thanks.

Everyone here has one.

The server config files should be on 127.0.0.1 because they are only talking to each other and not the client.

In the client (and server) share files you need your external IP since that is what the client needs to connect.

I have done all this, it still doesn't connect. i don't know what else to do besides run it without a router? my loginlist and channellist.csv on server and client share is my external ip. all cfg.ini is 127.0.0.1 (local host). i'm not completely noob at this. I fowarded all of the ports and checked with a tool and they are all opened.

guyz cant you just pay a little bit more and get static IP from your ISP. in my country for 20$ u get static IP and 100mbps connection. which will run smaller projects :)

You can use portforward.com and they got a nifty program that can make your internal static.
