I don't really know,
From what I assume they either put checkers/loggers OR they validate the data via server.

I've released an Skip enemy turn (AKA disable AI) hack at 25 March in my forum for paid users/VIP.

Works great on all kind of enemies.
Wasn't really easy to make ;P.
