Trying to run server using Windows 8

Hello, I have recently upgraded my PC to windows 8. Does anyone know of any compatibility issues with trying to run a server using windows 8?

Im trying to make a personal server(not for public), but seem to be having a few issues. (And yes I know how to use the search button :P)

Firstly my main issue seems to be that when I run the InstallServer.bat , it doesn't seem to install properly and also I seem to be missing all the MDF files afterwards from the DATABASE folder.

If anyone could please tell me if the shots look accurate of if not, how can I fix this?

P.S. Just so you know I have tried this so far with the Chinese server files and also Omega server files.

SQL Server doesnt support windows 8.Download vmware and try this program.

sql work fine for me on windows 8

Yes maybe sql work on win8 im trying making server dont work win8 :) I use vmware its very nice program...

Im still trying to set up a local server for myself so i can mess around a bit.
Just cant get green arrows to stick on server_mgr
I fixed all ini files with enc password etc
and still getting errors on logs about db cant connect (my error logs are same as a lot of threads I have seen on here)
looked up errors on search and theres a thread which says about cleaning dbo files
Does anyone know what that means or how to do it please.

I see a lot of threads saying what needs to be done to fix various things, but not much stating how to perform those fixes, some help would be most grateful :)

I would even be willing to Skype/teamview with somebody who is kind and willing enough to help me resolve these issues :)

Why complicate your life, if you can create a server on Windows XP or Windows 7?

try restoring db, i had similar promblem too and that fixed it(i have local server running on win 8)

Its' not about DB, its the SQL Server service where you need to start(enable) it. Most people forgetting this step -.-

i have an issue when trying to make my server public it work fine locally and worked publicly then my ip changed so changed the ip's in everything and it works fine locally but when using the public ip it says login server down maintance ihave also noticed shaiyaserver and shaiyaserverf wont run at same time as psm_agent
