Dear User.
As you may know, opinions on hardware, programs (i.e. virus scan programs) vary from user to user. Also, there are a lot of "Fanboys" out there recommend programs or hardware cause they like it, not b/c itll fit your needs.

So please(!) dont take soft- or hardware recommendations too serious. Google for tests made in laboratory environments (i.e. tests from it magazines and stuff) and demand a reliable source for what people recommend.

youll do this for you, cause you may be unhappy or experience serious problems with stuff mentioned by anonymous e*pvp people. The only one taking responsibility for damaging your system or smth like that is you, no one else.
Youll be fine with ATI.

nitrouz: Problem is, you were using "low budget system" and "nvidia" in the same sentence =D

Riley: I am currently using ATI, yes. But for my girlfriends computer and also for my notebook Ive choosen nVidia.

You can compare the 4890 with the GTX275. GTX got about +2 % more performance rating than the ATI card, but will cost +40 USD.

Why XFX? Buy the Club3d branded one. Good card, good price.

I am using a card I got almost 2 years ago for 125$ (nvidia), I used ati before that and it was good. But I just built new pc couple months ago, and got an ati card for almost 250$ and only +15fps improvement.. I sent back, maybe it was a bad card.

I am currently using my nvidia card on crossfire motherboard :P works great actually has higher resolution specs too, good for my 24" flat screen :)

*EDIT
The card was bad, newegg discontinued it too.. wasn't running at specs. still using the old nvid ;)
