I just wanted to start this thread to talk about the old days of Darkorbit(old client ONLY) Please please Feel free to post any comments you may have, Any videos of old client play only please though. Just talk about what you liked best of the old client and what you didn't like and see how many people have in common with your comments. So ill start with a story of my own.
when i first started out in Darkorbit i was just like most of the players a noob. I remember starting with a Phoenix and looking so weak. my first thought was omg this game is gonna be so lame, by the way this was like late 2007 or early 2008, So you all know im a old player ;). anywho I started shooting my way through and leveling up. I later realized this game was a grind for credits and spend on the Trade for most of your elite items. The first time i ever spent money on this game was about 2 months after playing the game. At the time I had a Goliath ship with 12 Lf3s and 7 Bo2(best shields) generators, I also had all my fe speed gens. but when a happy had hit I decided i would get myself Premium for 6 months because i hated how i to spend 500 uriidum per repair. then i spent an extra 40 for some uridium. eventually i got to FE and was around level 16 and had made my first 1 star ever and i was told that was an amazing Feat so i was excited. I joined a clan named T4T(USA East Server) The clan no longer exists i believe. What did i like about the game?: I loved the whole PvP aspect about it. i loved the 10% extra boosts and 25% as well. I loved how teamwork was Mandatory when doing Cubikons and Uber Bk's, there was no ''Solo'' unless it was pvp. I loved doing all the raids with my clans/Guilds. What i didnt like was we couldnt see the bids that people bidded up on but i got over it. i thought it was a little unnecessarily long to grind your ship to FE but i had no say in the matter it was a do or die thing to live by so what. I also hated the whole galaxy gates aspect. You spend sooooo much uridium building gates up only to recieve 20k, 40k, 60, or (at the time it was lower) 30k for Delta but they eventually raised it to 45k.
