Elitepvpers got me a job in Software Engineering

Hey there,

You probably don't know me, but the staff definitely does for being a pain over the past few years. I've grown up a lot since I first joined this community, and I've taught myself a lot about communication and respect towards my friends and colleagues (all of you). I first was introduced to programming on this forum back in April of 2010. I started in the Conquer Online section, and ever since, I've been completely hooked to software engineering. I started a project backed by the support of the community back in February of 2011. It's now the first, legal Conquer Online private server for student research. I've made multiple articles about it and have demonstrated the project at my college multiple times. It's thanks to Elitepvpers that I now climb towards my degree in Software Engineering.

Just recently, I was approached by a student in a class of mine. He explained that a demonstration of my project got his company very interested in hiring me. I walked in to the interview already having the job because of my work here with my project and research. It's crazy to think about, and I still am having a hard time wrapping my head around it... but programming here at Elitepvpers got me a job in Software Engineering. I now make software for banks and loan servicing companies. It's amazing because I started here... in this community, so thank you Elitepvpers for all that you've done. I've come so far in my life because of all of this... and I hope I'll be able to repay the community someday soon.

I really hope the staff members see this thread, because I'm pretty sure my thanks goes out mostly to them for letting me stay. So, thanks for letting me stay. I hope my time here hasn't completely been a thorn in your backside. :)

Regards,
Spirited Fang

I'm not that creative. I didn't even know what loan servicing was until I was offered the job. Believe me, I'm still wrapping my head around this.

That's a really inspiring story (no, seriously, I'm not being sarcastic). o:

I hope my programming gets me a job someday. At the moment I'm pretty okay with the actual programming, but no good at reverse engineering or anything like that. :-P

Definitely a cool story. That's the awesome thing about software development and I have been saying this for years that you don't need the fancy degree to get a good job, all you need is to show you are a talented programmer through your own projects.

Years ago when I was into industrial automation I had been approached and gotten a job without even sending them a resume because they had seen an opensource project I had done interfacing Allen Bradley PLC's.
