I had this problem and sorted it out
along with a friend who had the same problem.
to fix it this is what you do.
What you need to download.
Sql Server 2000 Service Pack 3.
Download:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
Instructions:
1. Back up your SQL Server databases.
2. Back up your Analysis Services databases.
3. Make sure that the system databases have enough free space.
4. Download from the link above
sql2ksp3.exe first.
then
sql2kasp3.exe
5. Extract sql2ksp3.exe to its folder. followed by sql2kasp3.exe into the same folder
6. go into the folder click start.bat and install the patch.
7. Restart services and applications.
