Botting Speed

Does the speed of my net drastically effect how much i'm looting and the overall speed of my hunters. Assuming I have 20 clientless accounts online on two different nets, but one is much faster then the other will this effect my income?

Yes.

Faster connections often allow you to improve the speed of your hunters without them getting disconnected but it's fairly unlikely you'll max out your connection unless it's horrendous.

It's easier to effect it by being closer to the servers (running bots off a server you rent which has great net and is located close to where the TQ servers are) would drastically improve performance versus say botting on US conquer servers while living in Europe.

But yah, the actual connection speed has very little to do with it unless you're running absolutely crazy numbers of bots.

My connection is pretty terrible. Whenever I have even 1 computer connected to the internet the other is serverly slowed. Well I bot 18-25 accounts using US located proxies sooo not sure how that plays in

You're always going to be limited by your base connection. Using a proxy can slightly improve performance as you're forcing all of your traffic to take a specific route but you're still going to be limited by the actual upload and download of your connection in order to transfer the information itself.

So yah... if you are really serious about botting then a cheap-o vps may be a nice thing to have. No worries about your home network slowing down, crashing or your computer being on all the time as well as having a MUCH faster and more stable connection to work with.

Not really familiar with using VPS. sounds like something I should check out. You can bot using that even when your computer isn't online?

It's literally a computer you rent that's in a data center (virtual machine = cheaper). As such it's a server that you can log into and control from anywhere and therefor is online 24/7. Setup the bot on the VPS and you can just leave it running there permanently.

any idea what it costs and what type of tech skills are actually necessary to use a VPS?

price depends on the provider and specs of the box you buy.
it`s basically a windows desktop like the one you`re lurking in right now, but instead of having the whole computer on your desk it`s placed somewhere else in the world. So how much complicated could it be than using your own windows box, if it is, in fact, a windows box...
