Anyhow, not all sources are copied, and if they are you should give creds to the actual creator of the sourcecode, not claim that it is your own creation.

people can make a source but they all rather upgrade doing just about everything wrong

As mentioned by someone else, this would be based off of Impulse's work. They did about 5 percent of effort (which actually made the source worse) now your friend is taking that, giving it to you and YOU want thanks for releasing it?....
