first you ask how to add NPC's, then you say you dont have time for binary (which is good, if you want TQ CO, play it) and need a source. If you are using a LOTF source already then get the original LOTF, it will be what you are used to looking at already. To add an NPC, you put him in the NPC table of the database (which gives him a map and coords), but that just drops him in game. You will need to use a unique ID number for this PC, and you will need to code in his dialog and such. This part isnt hard really. If you just want a new shop, the process is not the same, that is the way to add a "talking" NPC. to add a shop, go into your source folder and find the file "Shop.dat". in that you will find all the shops in game. copy the structure of those NPC's using your ID (from the NPC you added in the table), and add the items you would like that person to sell. Honestly i think alot can be done with LOTF but there is a better source, by Hybrid (Infamousnoone), a flat file system. take the time to read the sticky on it. it is under-developed in comparison to LOTF but it has just started really. LOTF has some inherit bugs in its code, that are not always easy to work with. Some creativity will get you a long way. but yeah....look at hybrid's bugless source. I'll link below, pce.
