just to download the whole game w/o NCSOFT ?

Of course its possible. You could download it with the Gameforge Launcher too.
Just take a look at the official Website of Aion Free To Play: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
Then download it there with Gameforge launcher.
