i need help bad. :|

guys, i REALLY need help setting up this server, im having so many problems... i've had almost 15 people "help" me on this and every one of them "instantly forget" or vanish forever. could someone please give me some help via teamviewer or something?

Without providing information regarding the issues you are having we can't help you, if you are seeking to learn, we can help -publicly- if you provide enough information, if you want someone to do everything for you, or privately, it will be hard, as some people will tell you they can/will help and they might not be trustworthy

when i go to start up the server, User log, Login01, and GameGroups01 play, but Session does not. i've tried every thing from what i can understand in that tut. :|



& i don't want everyone to do my work for me, i've got the server like, 90% done, i just can't get it to stay running.


i need someone who knows what they're doing to just look over what i have already and let me know how to fix it.

Probably the database isn't set up correctly.
Try removing and re-installing the database, with the default "MSSQLEXPRESS", instead of SQLEXPRESS.

Then just re-setup the MSSQL Configuration Settings. (Where you setup VIA and other stuff)

Any problem with Session, is a connect-to-database problem.
Try checking your logs, Session will say it can't connect to UserLog,
UserLog will say it can't connect to database with the info your supplied.

I hope this is enough info.

here is the log files

Database connect error. Make sure your password you set is in the database and your ini files properly.

Search here, there are plenty of set up guides that will show you have to do your user/pass properly for DB/Server.

Truth, i've searched here, i've tried everything in the fixes, otherwise i wouldn't be posting and using up every ones time.

I gave you the answer to your solution. And you clearly DID NOT search for much more than 5 seconds if you couldn't fix your error by looking at your own logs. Seriously, there are Stickies and an entire thread by JohnHeatz with all the guides you need. Your exact problem has been answered easily 5 times in threads with over 100 posts. Go to the dev section, open the sticky from Peripher, and scroll down to you see something about passwords/usernames for your database. I'm just taking a guess, but i'm sure the info is in that guide.

ctrl-f and search for

' 'your-db-username'

From there down it should help you with passwords and stuff.

hey, Truth, before trying to act like a badass, maybe you should do your research. i DID look at that thread, thats the TUT im going off of. and i CLEARLY STATED I DID IT ALL RIGHT. <--- gotta use caps so maybe you'll get the point.

i did it EXACTLY word from word, how it is in the tut, and it didn't work.

uhm before that becomes more and more worst ._. i give u a good hint shaiya is like a princess yh like a princess u heard right.. sometimes it just loves to bug around without any real reason. So here the point. do it again and again till it works. sometimes its nothing but sometimes its aswell a little point u forgot to do or what ever. so do it over and over again.
I putted in my ini files pw and user like 3 times in before it worked...

Now.. Just because you obviously don't understand that insulting those trying to help you is a big no no.. if you ever want anyone to take you seriously, I'll try once more.

I'm telling you this right now as you so bravely decided to tell me in all caps.

YOU DID NOT DO IT ALL RIGHT <-- just so you get the point.

Others have set up from that guide completely fine. It doesn't just decide "hmm, I don't like the username of this computer, so I'll decide to not work" If it's not working, then it's simply something YOU did wrong.

And I'm starting to see why, with the attitude to help that you have.

I looked at your log files and told you right away what the problem is. Database connect error. Which means your server files are NOT connecting to your database correctly. Now you have 2 options, find what you did wrong, and correct it. Or re-do the install, properly this time, not skipping any steps because your "experienced" and you "know what your doing"

Once you actually follow the guides properly, you'll get it working properly, guaranteed. It's not by pure luck I, and many others use those same files, same methods, and same guides.. and get the things to work. Trial and error. If your struggling at these parts, it may just be simpler for you to give up trying to get your own server on line. Because I can tell you know, these are the easy parts you're having problems with.

look, im sorry for my previouse post's. this server is getting to me, but i have done everything step by step. i even had people looking over my shoulder to see that im doing it step by step. i've had a few people try to fix this problem now, and everyone of them have no clue at all what's wrong....

i ended up UN-installing EVERYTHING and re-tried it with SQL2000 instead of 08'.

now i've got everything except "Game" working....
