IP BlockRange Romania

As example for 'Romania'

This simple example .htaccess entry will block Romania-Country for webserver.
You can copy each IP Address and do it over WInServer Firewall IP Block.
Enjoy it.

#Moved to the right section

You can use this to block any country actually, obviously by using Google to find the IP range of a country (nothing hard to do)

What can you gain if you IP ban Romania? Nothing.
Proxy`s, VPN`s almoust everything can be found for free or for a small ammount of $$.
Blocking the IP`s its a total bullshit.
Either grow your securrity better, either forget about doing anything if you cant secure yourself properly.

Great release right? :D hahaha

Personally, I find this a bit offensive. I'm not exactly romanian, but I don't think that if there are some known DDoSers from Romania it means other romanians should be discriminated like that.
Despite the fact that I don't like him very much, what taz just said is true.

Did he once say this release was to ban in specific hackers or "wrong doers" ? No it wasnt. If you have a server that you intend for only "Brazilians" for example, then IP block all the other countries to "funnel" you incoming traffic more.

And it seems most of the "Unwanted" community do come from Romania. Hackers & trouble making players. Even though he just used the country as a pure example. Quit creating drama, if you don't agree with the thread, don't bother posting on it, simple trolling.

Why block a whole country for 1 person? A person who is supposed to know how to go over this with a simple proxy..Yeah it may be made for these people who want only 1 country join his server but...For this you can just advertise ur server to people of ur country that would be easier and faster...Isn't it?
11/18/2012 18:41 nephren#7
Should the 1 Person use his proxy with 211kb/s as example
And if some Person wanna play he or she can ask
11/18/2012 21:16 JohnHeatz#8
Well, yes, in part it is possible, after banning a whole country, for example, to unban one IP address, or different addresses.

And this is the Internet, there isn't a site for each country just to advertise stuff...

the idea is not entirely wrong! I was already on the verge of excluding an entire country! However, there are also opportunities vpn Network Tools decipher and thus to avert the main address!

most evil addresses use an ip changer or proxy or vpn service! But always the same ports usually never more than 3-5 different! Install a game that gets assigned a port of windows! this does not change even when change of ip addresses! so I ban the malicious ip and also the ports!

So the bad ip in their connection ports will be banned!

the attacker wants to change that he must re-install windows .. because no matter how many times you play it the reinstalled using the same ports

The port range is almost as big as the massive amounts of port and ip's only bad ip + bad beats to the firewall with good and bad ip port, it outputs only ne list to evaluate .. should exhibit the evil lord port hides behind a proxy or a vps system, he will be banned automatically

I can assure you @sondo81 its not how you think it is, or even that simple.
I myself own a VPN with over 300 IP`s worldwide. (Check the highlighted word again!)
And it`s not a free VPN, its a payed one, so i doubt your "workarround" will be good for anything.

Yes, sure if you want to ban a whole country you can do it, and limit the traffic, but those days, with google, everyone can see the content of the website if she or he really wishes to.
This is not much of a realease, nor a helpfull guide, it`s just another copy/paste, without helping anyone.

"This is not much of a realease, nor a helpfull guide, it`s just another copy/paste, without helping anyone."

of course is it not for someone who know that already.
Sure you can everything google it.

Helpful for who ? Maybe there are some guys who need it and don't know how to do it.
it's simple to stay a bit more secure.
i never tagged it as [RELEASE].

Yes pretty much VPN/VPS etc already exist. But Free ones are bandlimited. So you can't do much with it. And most Free VPNs stored logs. Most Paid too btw.
As example: DDOS-Attacks
DDOS-Attack is what? Yes illegal.
if you check logs, you got the IP, you will find the VPN-Company and use "abuse".
If the Company doesn't ban you already for messing around.
And if a WebDev daily check his logs he can bann this Paid VPNs too.
And i'm pretty sure, that some guy wanna buy every 300 Bans (as example of course)
a new "provider"
11/20/2012 13:50 Rezeeko#12
Not true at all. You can`t do anything against a good VPN provider, nor a free one those days. :)
But, please, keep your time and try. Check the results at the end.
11/20/2012 14:10 nephren#13
Thats right. But u can cut it down a bit.
Even if you don't have leet firewalls. And a lot of iptables.
Im trying to create examples to cut it down with some pasted Stuff and self writed things.

DDoS attacks got nothing to do with blocking Romania. I can assure you, a proper DDoS attack will come with a lot of IP`s OUTSIDE Romania in this case, since the attacker lives in there. And a proper DDoS attack won`t reveal the IP from the attacker.

Other then that you can`t do anything, just try to secure your server, webhost and everything you have better. There are ways to avoid them and work arrounds, but not for long if someone really wants you down. Yes, you can delay them, or even get some spare time unitil they get bored, but you can only do this if you research properly and try to learn by yourself.

That is completely incorrect, as by knowing the kind of attack they are using you can completely block their accesses, mostly from such attackers that seem just to know what a botnet is and how to direct the attacks to an IP address, because you know...they have no job and need money, which they earn by blackmailing people...
