[Q] C++ memory editing with pointers

03/20/2009 21:36 TrueYami#1
Hey there.

I used that guide which helped me a lot ([Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...])...
The main problem is, I tried it for another game, everytime I restart it, the address changes, so I wanted to do it with pointers.
I already searched on google, but didn't find anything rly usefull.

Please help me ;]
Thanks!

Attach Cheat Engine to the game and the use the "Find out what accesses to this address" function of it.
You can also try to google "Cheat Engine pointer tutorial".

I tried that, but I'm waiting and nothing happenz =/
Imma try to check a tutorial then =]
But how do I call the address later :x

i think this would be also usefull for you

If you actually knew what you are talking about, you wouldn't call them "Multilevel pointers". It has nothing to with levels or layers. It's just pointers pointing at pointers pointing at...

Excuse me... how long have you been programming? I can't seem to find any information about that.

And no, no real programmer will call pointers pointing at pointers "multi level pointers".

No ones call it multilevel pointer. You can call it pointer-to-pointer but not multilevel pointer.

And stop now spamming with this shit.

Well you're kinda proving my point there. You'll only find this term connected with CheatEngine. No serious programer who knows what he's doing is gonna call a pointer pointing at a pointer "multi level pointer".
