Getting back into P.Servers

Hi Guys,

After long thought and deliberagtion, I have finally decided to get back into the development of Conquer Online.

Now that's out of the way, what version do you guys think I should work on?

We already have a few other games in the pipe-line, but for now, I would love to know what you guys think!

I will obviously be monitoring this thread for activity, so feel free to let me know here!


4267 - Based of RedemptionCo
5017 - Based on Hybrids Source
5095 - Based on CoEmu
5165 - Based of My Custom source or Arcos old source
5517+

Your getting back into the development of conquer but you insist on using a public source to base your development on why?

Sorry just re-read my post, I might base it off a public source OR will create a new private one. I have already got some of a 5165 done and partial Conquer 1.0 done... But want to get peoples opinions before I go any further

The version doesn't matter much, in my opinion. It's the server itself. If you give people a reason to join, then you'll have a successful server.

Thanks Fang, one question for you... Knowing how well you know Conquer Servers what in your personal opinion is the best patch?

Personally I say Conquer 1.0 / Pre 5165

I have two favorite patches. 4294 is my favorite. It was when Conquer Online 2.0's skin first came out (before potency and such). It's a beautiful client and it was the first Christmas patch (when the trees came out). My second favorite is 5187. As I said though, it's what you do with the game that makes it special. I only like those patches because of the concept (both were events that really improved Conquer Online for me - Christmas and the simple arena system).

I do agree with 4294 christmas tree jumping was a personal favorite of mine :) Hmm thinking about it... I dont think I have seen any/many 4294 servers... would be great to build one actually... Might do it and build on my existing server as well... Give people a choice of what they want
