editing/optimising software

Hey, I am making archlord videos either using xfire or fraps but the file is always very big, is there any software which will optimise it but not reduce quality too much (free software would be better :P) Also is there any good software whch i can use to edit my videos. Any ideas?

I use this to convert videos:

This is not an editor just a fast converter to reduce the file size.

I use sony vegas pro as well. But you'll have to download the trial version and then start looking for a keygen. They charge you 400 euros for some software xD
