Why ppls Close server after 1-3months?

much server dead after 1-3months what happend? if you can fixing buggs dont open server
and yea if you dont have money for protect your server from ddos dont open
or you guys only care about donations get donations from much ppls and then close server??

yes it is posted into the wrong section.
and I agree to you, alot people close their servers after some month.. but i think most of them do not have enough money to pay the server.. you know it is quite expensive to rent good servers.

Sadly, people think that as they can substitute their brains with a software which will do pretty much everything (even though completely buggy SQL scripts, therefore NOT everything) they can run a server, so they set one up, open it to the public, get donations and close the server, which is bringing Shaiya community to a slow death

what JohnHeatz said is right but theres also been another trend lately to open servers and get as much money from players as you can and then close them again just to start over again under a new name. This of course don't include all servers that close that early, some might just not realize the amount of work it take to actually run a server.

Money is not the problem here , Apollo is the problem i think , Even they have a strong protection , Apollo is a more strong hacker too..

Admins are afraid >.< , There are some brave ready to fight but rarely and I cant point out who is afraid and who is brave..

but JohnHeatz is awesome :D

first off get a better english <.< second apollo isnt the prob at all if they only would open when they have a strong enough protection. 3rd apollo is kind of good he reduces the nub server and only the real admins which know what they do can keep their server up so let me kind of compare this situation with the situation Darwin explained. Its called natural choice... and i do beleave apo is in any kind helping a bit the comunity to stay toghter .. think of a comunity without him and his attacks at the nub servers... then we may would have a maximum of player on any server of max 10 player...

Just wanted to clarify something in here, he isn't a hacker at all, a 5 year old kid can DDoS anything, DDoSing is something so simple that doesn't require more than get the needed software and botnet (which are being sold/rented etc...), we can compare DDoSing to creating a Shaiya Server, people get a software which does basically everything for them, and start it, that's it.
