[HELP] website not connecting to my db

hopefully someone can help me with this, i have my server on a windows based vps, and my website through the same company but diff ip's obviously i am using the template made by Mizzion i have the website up, but it is not linking to my database on my server, anyone know what would cause this? any help with this would be great i would love to open my server this weekend for players but i cant if i have no register page working lol

this is the error i got when i tried to change my password
'/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)

Well first you have to make sure apache is running if it is not running no one can view or connect to page. Second in config.ini make sure the information is correct pointing to your database. Like ur ip and database and account. Make sure also it the Ip address that the database is on not the one ur hoster your site on.

ok for some reason apache will not run on the windows 2003 vps server i have, and the support centre is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard, think i'm about to give up, anyone know why apache wont run on this stupid bloody server? ty in advance all :)

It will not run because some other program is running on port 80 if you add me to msn [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] i will tell you or show you how to make it work im using VPS to host my server to.

if your using teamviewer on the vps that is what is blocking apache

u can try xampp also i think it is a better solution...

i have tried wamp and xampp both, when i use either of those i obviously use the mysql attached to those programs and it will not let me connect to my db with navicat using a password, but if i use the mysql i downloaded with the server files for the db i can connect just fine, but doesn't matter cos i still cant get the website to connect to my db either from any of the programs that i have used. when i use the wamp service and connect to
http:// localhost and click on phpmyadmin it gives me this message

cannot connect to the mysql server access denied for user ****@*** using password yes

Not a Problem glad i was able to Help you. Oh yeah i got the unicorn mounts tested and picture of me riding them if you want to see.
