Playing vindictus EU with a proxy

Hi, i was wondering if anyone could help with this...i took a look at the old NA guide, and i tried to use proxy cap 5.02 to login to the EU version. But even if i can get to the login screen with "Europe" showing, the proxy always fails to connect.

I get a message saying "Authentication to NGM server failed" and proxy cap shows the following errors in the log :

Oct 12 23:18:01 Vindictus.exe My proxy(2) 109.234.76.83:47611 Winsock error Connection timed out (10060).
Oct 12 23:18:08 Vindictus.exe My proxy(2) 109.234.76.83:47611 SOCKS5 client error Authentication failed.

IPs above should be nexon server IPs (they are listed as destination IPs in proxy cap).

Does anyone know why proxies are failing to connect, even if they are working and can get to the login screen?

Only start up the proxy at the login screen, not before and disable it after you are ingame.

Did you try several proxies or only those 2? Just try a few more (I usually used hidemyass.com proxies).

I tried more than a dozen. Most of them would not get me to the login screen at all (i assume they were broken), the rest simply failed to get past the authenticate failure.

Can you recommend any other sites to get proxies from? xroxy proxies seem to be mostly down when i tried them.

Actually, what is the point of a proxy server that goes down constantly? Why take them down in the first place? It's like having your website go down every few hours. Not very useful.

Just tried again, only turned it on at the login screen., denmark socks 5, failed to authenticate, last checked on hidemyass 30 mins again...

Try German proxies. Keep on trying to log in if you get the authenticate failure message. Sometimes it just works after a certain time.

Or try another proxy program, proxyfirewall worked just fine for me (back when I used Win XP).

In my opinion hidemyass.com is the best site to find a working proxy (otherwise just google proxy lists).

A free proxy will eventually go down and you can't prevent the proxy from doing so. You will need to pay for a proper proxy if you do not like to disconnect.
