It won't work on server 2008. Get the 2008 version of MSSQL :S

You need to get the enterprise version, not the express version.

This is because you are trying to install a 32bit sequal server on a 64bit machine. SQL 2000 is programmed to check what architecture you are running. To install SQL 2000 on a 64bit machine you need to run the setup manually from the x86 folder.
