Stats\Counts(such as CP count, money count ect ect...) and the obvious things are all server sided yes, However not every function that manipulates stats/counts ect... ect... ect.... is server sided, leaving vulnerabilities that can be found and exploited, witch is in this case.
For instance the Chi hack I made in TwelveSky 1. Obviously your total chi was SERVER SIDED could not simply be changed on the client to give you unlimited chi. However the functions to deplete chi when you use a skill were handled on the client, and if you bypass the functions that deplete the chi, not chi will be depleted resulting in a unlimited chi. Just an example of how a server sided stat could still be hacked in a manner to allow you to manipulate it.
