I'm not sure which section this would go to, so any mod move it if needed..

I'm looking to host a server for someone, I've got a pretty good computer (not the best in the world).. 3 GB ram, 1 TB hard-drive.

Anyways I'm looking to start a server with someone.. My computer is a 64 bit windows 7 computer.

I know a little about coding but not enough to do my own thing.. Well anyone feel free to Private msg me or post on here, Thanks for your time.

Seems unlikely anyone would be interested.

1: Homehost servers are a waste of time. Spend the few bucks to get it professionally hosted.

2: You bring nothing to the table yourself besides the host (which as mentioned is not worth using unless you have some crazy connection with great upload speeds and nothing else using it... ever)

3: People would be sending all of their hard work to someone who is completely un-known. That's just asking to have your stuff stolen and if it's not worth stealing then it's definitely not worth hosting lol.

I see what you mean, and true.. people do steal stuff I didnt take that in consideration when i posted this.. but some people cant buy vps or get one.. I meant to post this for some1 who may just be starting up and cant afford vps.. but true

If you can't afford to purchase a vps, don't bother hosting a server since you will be spending more money if the server doesn't become successful

lol you dont need to buy a source, if you can code but have a shitty cpu then thats where this post comes in handy.. but you dont reallly need cash to set up a server.

Home connections (there are VERY few exceptions) are simply not worth using to host a public server with... period.

They are perfectly viable for a test/beta server where you might only have say a dozen or so active players at most times but as soon as you try to host a real server then you NEED to be willing to invest the money to make it a success.

Why should I play your server if you cannot guarantee that the hosting will be covered for the next 6-12 months? If you cannot make that claim then it's just another fly by night server in which case it's completely pointless anyways.

Regardless, wasn't accusing you of anything... it's just a rather pointless offer.
