JohnHeatz - The new CO2 Mod?

Hey,

So I got a question, Who is he and why is he mod? I've not once seen him post in the CO2 section before his mod, I asked around on msn and noone seemed to have a clue who he was. I can't even find his application for mod?

#edit: Either I'm plain dumb when I've only been awake for 15 minutes of that guy really doesn't have a mod app.

I complained and request any active mod be placed in the CO section at least for the time being as realistically Lat isn't active enough to do the job as required. And JohnHeatz offered/was requested to do the job.

He seems like a nice enough guy from what I've seen of him :)

I was already wondering about how long it'd take to assign a new mod after I left, took almost a month.

Well Lat technically doesn't even fulfill the requirements to be a mod (mods can't be private server staff) so he shouldn't be modding at all, lol

I dont think that rule is enforced to be perfectly honest, I was staff member for quite a few private server projects and even stated that in my application as i recall, i even mentioned running other forums. So yeah...

Alright, thanks for clearing that up, though I do think he should only be a mod untill someone from this section steps up, I mean, Has he even played conquer before? lol.

Not that im aware of, but he is a developer for other games and has said hes currently spending alot of his time learning about Conquer so hes probably our best bet for the time being, and even the future given what our section currently has to offer in terms of potential moderators lol

But yes, for the time being any mod is better than what we had.

Why don't you step up for mod again?

Well, basically everything that has been said is pretty much right.

Let's talk about me for a bit.

As Korvacs posted, I have been moderator for the Shaiya Section for around a year already; recently I got added to Need For Speed World section as well. Korvacs had complained about order in this section, I have not been actively posting on the section, yet since I started my path on ElitePvPers this has been one of my favorite sections given the fact that I am a software developer, using mostly .NET platforms (more into VB.Net than C# though, yet I am learning C# right now) and most of the coders (good ones, at least) are united in this section.

Even though I haven't been actively posting, I have been active when it comes to reporting posts on this section, and as I have the time availability as well as the willingness to help out on the section, I got offered the position to be added and help Lateralus. This can be something temporal, even though I can help when it comes to moderating the section quite well, so as far as I am needed I will be around.

As of right now, and as I am just learning about coding on C#, I am not of a huge help to the community; but I can help on having this section as clean and organized as it can be; obviously, with the help of Lateralus and every member of the community.

When it comes to Conquer -and as this was one of the questions I spotted- I haven't played for some years now, yet I played it back in 2008, spending quite some time on the game. Currently I don't really play that much any game, as I am focused on enhancing my developer skills and growing my knowledge on different programming languages; so when it comes to the game, I might get into it again, but I am more interested on the development of it.

About the rule that has been mentioned, well, it is correct that no staff member on this board can be involved on any sort of private server project, and that is actually being enforced by our administrators, given the fact that when this rule was placed, we all had to take the decision between working on any private server or stay as staff member, I -personally- chose to keep my position in here and quit being staff on a server I was (on Shaiya though).

To end up this long post I want to say that I like to get along with people, I'm kind of friendly so anything just let me know and I can try helping if I have the knowledge, as well, I don't take anything personal, with my experience on these forums, I have gotten to know a lot of people which gets angry and insults me when I have to hand out a warning/infraction, yet I am here to keep the board clean, so as far as we keep that order and follow the rules I simply won't have to give any sort of warnings or infractions; but I attach strictly to the rules, so if someone breaks a rule, being whomever he/she is, I will do my job.

So, my Skype is in here, and if anyone wants any other contact source, just hit me up and I will gladly give it out (yet I am mostly just on Skype) but I always reply to the PMs I get, as well as messages on my profile.

Any question(s) anyone might have, just let me know.

Thanks for that as well, I am just starting when it comes to CO2 development, so I just need to get to know the mere basics of it, so that I can, then, start learning more about it, might take time, but while I'm here I'm sure that there are many experienced developers which I might ask some things about, so will definitely take you into account for that.
