failed to get update version information. restart please

can anyone share to us how to fix this launcher problem? i really really want to play cabal again.. since the last maintenance 09.06.12.. i cant play cabal.. before maintenance i use husky coz my launcher have this error 2 weeks ago.. if you have solution on this problem please comment on this thread ASAP! post links if these problems were solved!

1) restart ur pc.
2) disable AV
3) run cabalmain.exe as admin.
4) observe if it downloads any files. if it does ur lucky if not. sorry :D

im cabal ph.. does this manual patch 596+597 work for me?

in ph we only have patches ep7 , ep8.. i have a patch of ep8..

but when my launcher got screwed 2 weeks ago still i dont have the answers to fix it..

so i think it will not be possible if i download those numbered patches..

even if i reinstall the effin cabal ph installer.. still has the same problem..

is this the end of my cabal hunting spree?

hmm, how about running the client in its 'regular' fashion? That is, non-husky..

Had that error too coz i have been running my client in 'husky' mode.. It got resolved when I run the client normally to patch first.. Then once the patching is done, i ran it in 'husky' mode again..

this is the message when i log in my account husky mode..

"UPDATE

The game will close to recieve the update.

Please restart the game to recieve update.
Please restart the game again.

when i remove husky.. cabal launcher pops..

and it says "failed to get update version information. restart please"

so in any way i cant update it!! what a day!!!

Re-install the game after removing all traces of failbal (Cabal) including from the reg. Reboot your pc and install the game with admin rights (Right click run as) Once installed reboot then run the game as admin and leave it to patch. Make sure you add cabalmain.exe and update.exe to your Anti-Virus and firewall. This should remove that error and then stop running the thing in husky mode as you shouldn't use it unless you manually patch the game and the client requires the same patch that you have just installed.

delete the update.exe as well as everything in the update folder.

my friend has same we tried a lot of ways and none worked
he just plays other game now :D
