so my processor is a dual core E8400 @ 3.00 GHZ stock cooler.
Graphics are ATI radeon X1950 512MB edition or however you might call it.
i got 2 gb of RAM,an asus p5k/epu motherboard and a 500 gb HDD.this is the best i can afford,is this decent enough to make something like medium quality videos?especially minecraft with optifine on i want to play on atleast normal +32 with the optifine mod on.would it be smooth or do i have to reduce detail?

The hardware itself has nothing to do with the quality of your videos. It just influences the speed of rendering them. I don't know how bad fraps would decrease your fps, because your graphics card isn't that good.

Just test it. On some websites i heard that DxTory doesn't take that much resources like fraps so maybe go with DxTory.

Sorry for my "bad" english my native language is german. If you have some more questions feel free to ask ;)

I like DxTory, its a little bit difficult to configure but it uses less RAM and other ressources than fraps.

But i think you just have to try it :P
