Hello guys, I just want to know some information if this Dedicated server if can run a source(generally if some public source or Binary one):

Here is the information:

PHP Code:
CPUP4 2.8 Ghz (I need information about this one)
RAM2GB
HDD
:160GB (although less of that will still work since we need only for the source to run)
Bandwidth2TB
OS
Windows
Note this is Dedicated Server not VPS, can you give me some Advantage and Disadvantage list.

My Friend Ask me about this so I just post it here coz don't have idea (just need info from expert)

Thank You
Edsel

You didn't specify how many players you expect to have connected to your server, or how memory hungry the source you plan to use is. The specs are fine to run a pserver, but like I said, it really depends on the answers to the above two questions as to how good it really is.

How about if 150 to 200 player online?

If your source is any good, it will do 200 players anytime.

it all boils down to your connection which you never go into.

is this a dedicated 100mbit line? 1tbit line? or is this some crappy home cable type connection which is going to have shit for upload rate?

If your source is at all well written you will have zero issues on almost any server hardware for ram/cpu stats (unless you're trying to run it on a potato). The bottleneck 9 times out of 10 will be bandwidth related if everything inside the source is done properly.

Yes this is Dedicated Server, as I have already mention above(nah I know what I am talking about), this is not Home cable type connection....

Just cause it's a dedicated server doesn't tell us anything about how the networking is handled.

Many budget dedicated server providers give you very poor connections in comparison to other packages. You have provided no information on your actual connection which is the main key factor when hosting any game server.

So what company you recommend for Dedicated or Vps Server?

opss my bad sorry...well, it would be connected to a 100Mbps port and the metric would be based off of total data transferred.

100Mbit is fine but for an entry level server.

My old dedi was with iweb (hosted in quebec) and it was quite nice.

That being said... hosts boil down to price, location, features, service(s).

If you're euro I wouldn't settle for anything less than a 1gbit connection as they are so cheap... in Canada that's simply not feasible (our net sucks) but in the states it boils down to pricing. if you're just starting out then 100mbit should be fine but if you can afford gbit connection it's very worth it (hundreds+ players)

Thanks pro

100Mbit is overkill anyway for a conquer server, you wont use anywhere near that level of bandwidth.
