[Help] Can't see my Server

01/16/2009 08:06 Streidominating#1
Hey all.

I need help with my server.

I have set up everything, my server should run. But when I start P-Server Connector, I can't see the server in the List.

I use:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

And followed this tutorial: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Everything should be fine. The server is running and has access to my SQL Database. WebMan is also running. I tried both times with my local IP and one time with 127.0.0.1.

Is it possible that I CAN'T run the Server and connect with the server on the same System? Or do you guys know what I could've done wrong? I did EVERYTHING exactly like the tutorial. Well, instead his IP my IP, instead his database account I just did the Name to: sa and pw to my pw...

Hope anyone has any ideas!

Thanks for reading, hopefully you can help.

Greetings,

did you edit the p-connector's ip to 127.0.0.1? (you need to use winhex or something)
01/16/2009 08:18 Streidominating#3
Yup

Everything has been changed to 127.0.0.1

But still can't find it.

Could it also be that I'm in a domain? Or isn't that relevant?

Thats quite a vague statement my friend "I can't see my server!" Explain more, or post a screenshot of the problem. I'll do my best to assist you more.

Make sure your running WebMan.exe and have changed ALL the IP's you need to change.

It is as simple as I said.

I can't find it when I open P-Server Connector

Normally, something like a loginprogram opens up, a minilauncher. And u should see all avaible Servers on the left side. The Name u usually define in the list.txt from WebMan.
But it just wont show up in the list.

I change the IP in every possible file. Cast, Login, Session, DekaronServer, list.txt from WebMan, P-Server Connector with Winhex and data.pak with Winhex

Everything changed to 127.0.0.1 and also tried with my local Network IP 172.16.22.78

Both don't help. So I assume that it is impossible to host a server and connect with it, on the same system.

Firewalls always off, I'm logged on with Administrator.

And all in one:
Server is functioning, no error while starting the server, WebMan is also able to track if im trying to log in. But I can't see the server with P-Server Connector.

I'll post every Screen below.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
Cast, Login, Messenger, Session Server started

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
DekaronServer started

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
WebMan with no connections so far

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
P-Server connector Window. On the left sides should be the server "Strei"

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
WebMan which tracked my connection, but why does it say I logged out, even while my p-server connector keeps open?

So, if you see any failures, please tell me. I'm 99% sure that I changed every IP I need to change.

Thanks for ur help

Dont use this ip(127.0.0.1) dont use ur local either. Download Hamachi/Make a new network and name it w/e u want. Now on top of ur hamachi client screen u shud see ur hamachi ip. It always starts with 5.something.bla.bla now put that ip in all cast/session/login/dkserver and others that need. Now download a client that has unpacked data. So a client that doesnt have data.pak instead it has all the folders inside data folder. Also i suggest downloading a client that doesnt have a logintool program/or anything just a simple 1 click launcher. There are a lot of clients all around that has those. Now go on data folder of client go to share folder and change default ip of servantlist.csv, channellist.csv and loginlist.csv to ur hamachi ip. Now run ur server run ur client and login it shud work. Dont forget to put ur hamachi ip in webman.exe.
Btw u gotta have hamachi on whenever u run server.

Hey, thanks for your great help!

I would really like to try that, but unfortunately I can't run Hamachi in our Schoolnetwork xD

You have any other solutions than using Hamachi?

ROFL,

you're trying trying to run a game server from a school network

ROFL,

IF u didn't realize, um, schools put protection things onto the computers BEFORE u even see the computer put into the school.

schools these days get their computers from a known source of well known people and them people put the protection on them in their shop before the school gets them......

i suggest trying from your home ;)

Erm, I'm not trying to run it over the network.

I'm trying to to run it local.

I have a Notebook at school, so there is no problem with that.

It's just that you cant' run the server and the client on the same System... (so far)

---

Besides, you have no clue about computer schools do you?^^

This "protection", well, its only AntiVirus and "Webfex" to control what ya doing while doing a test on PC or just what u doing during lessons. Also, why Hamachi doesn't work is explained very simple: "Ports are blocked"
