itemtype.dat problem

So I accidentally used an older version of the itemtype.dat file and my equipped gear (armor and weapons) have disappeared. Not I mean I'm no longer able to see them, but that I don't have them anymore ... or so it seems ..

Question:

Is there any way I can get my 'lost' items back?

I read that I need to get the newest update and my items should return; I tried this, but my stuff is still missing.

Any help would be great, at a total loss here.

EDIT:
All my stuff is (free) stuff ... not sure if that makes a difference.

Never mind, the newest patch (jan. 15) fixed the problem ... don't know how to delete this post.

Just for your information;
I guess you used an older patch were those free items werent in already, so they couldnt be displayed, next time just patch up again :p.
