Sounds very familiar.

Have you updated your router firmware, or done anything to do with your connection recently?

You didn't said if your using vista or xp.
Keep in mind that if you use vista you need to aprove SRO again when vista runned a life update.
This is not always but sometimes when my vista update I have to aprove SRO on my firewall, Norton, Vista security.

Goodluck!!!

Ontopic, When your connections MTU is below 1400 you can't connect to certain sites/ like MSN for example, and SRO, also Virgin website, because their MTU is 1500, so all others get refused, Wiki MTU.

I had this problem a while back after I updated my routers firmware(to the newest version)
I called my ISP so many times asking what the problem, found out the new firmware put it to 1400, god knows why,
Hope this will help someone who may have this issue one day :)
