I think, my friend in greece has faced the same problem. Some other players claimed that Joymax has released a monster in the nothern parts of rok mountain, and cause botters to be murderers.
Anyhow, i don't think this is a reasonable explanation, but i'd go for the configurations in your friend's bot. i.e. : make sure that he clicked the options in his auto training zone:
--Drop fighting bacvk when no attacking recieved after 15 seconds.
--No fighting back when other player PKing you.
And just to solve your friend's problem utterly, let him pwlvl in the southern parts.
