After starting silkroad the client will apper in the "mixer" just turn the sound off there

Nice solution, if you have win7. But the raining noise was always a problem. x)
You know what? Just delete Music.pk2. :D

you could also replace the .ogg file in the music.pk2 with a .ogg music file which doesn't have any sound in it.

EDIT: Don't delete the file from the music.pk2 I don't know what happens if you do but the client will most likely crash cause it can't find the file.

btw, I also noticed the thunder crap and it is turned off if you enable all the sound in-game, press ok and then turn them all off again.

Create 3 files called lightning1.wav, lightning2.wav and lightning3.wav, additionally, if you want to delete also the rain sound, create a file called rain1.wav.
Open any pk2 tools (preferably Joymax ones), open the Data.pk2 with them, and move to the directory prim/snd/etc, and place the empty .wav files you just created there, rewriting the existing ones. Close the pk2, start the game and enjoy the silent storms.

You know, that sounds really evident. :O Really simple. What if the community had brain. :)

or you can modify the sound to where it plays 2 gay midgets going at it. Thunder is awesome and it sounds very realistic. Not understanding why you would want to remove natures sound in a game xD

Ive allready done this, and did it the way Synx explained because even with the sound turned off ingame the thunder was sooo bloody loud n i use a headset so its really loud. So set out to get rid of it and did it the way synx explained. It works with no problems or crashes etc. Don't delete the files either becasue the client hangs n crashes or it did for me and it does it when it rained n i knew it tried to play the sounds.

Btw if you cant figure it out from what Synx said then you best not attempt it + if you do Make sure you backup what ever your trying to edit first! This is a must rule when editing anything in the client!
