Combatshield in DO, or what?

In fight I have problems taking down an enemy. It seems like he is going down but with about 5k hp left, his ship is getting some kind of shield around, and he survive. And i'm getting killed instead. This enemyship is the goliath enforcer, and not a design-ship. Anyone know what this is? I also would like this on my acc:mad:

Maybe he uses insta-shield? I don't know because you don't give much details about it..

i guess its an energy leech.. or special ability of new ships

They do use backup shields or switch back to a configuration with shield back
(sry for my bad english I am danish)

theres 3 things he could have done
1. Insta shield.
2. Battle repair bot/ Energy Leech
3. Crab formation

Instashield is used earlier in fight, from the both of us, and it's not a teck-ship. He use the goliath enforcer. The "shield" look like a fog around the ship, and last for a really long time. I fight him with my acc: 45 lvl 16 lf4 (incl. pet), 890k shield. Doubble boosters + kappabooster.
He get fast down from his hp and shield, but he don't die. I do several times. I concider my self as a good fighter, but against this player i don't have a chance. If i meet this player more, i rather run instead of getting beaten up:D:facepalm:

Maybe he has some kind of exploit/bug that make that when he is at x point of life/shield. It can't decrease (saw some videos :P)
