Port thing.

Good day everyone,

I have Windows 2008 R2 64 bit vps A already added all the ports needed in firewall and only 80 port is open.

I am runnin my server on this port 9958 5816 and i cant log on on my server , i already allow them in firewall and there is no problem with port 80 .

Any idea. This is my first time runnin on a vps

You haven't actually told us what the problem is...except that its port related.

There's probably something between you and the VPS besides the firewall (or another firewall.) My hosting had a page on the web-based control panel that let me select which ports to open. There's a difference between a port being: Open; Closed; and Filtered.

Open, Close and Filtered.... If I open it Filtered what does it mean? (Open is obviously Open )

Filtered usually means it cannot be fully labeled as open/closed because something else the machine is doing is blocking further information from being retrieved.
