First of all there is no thing called "Visual C++" unless you're talking about CLI...

I prefer C++ as it's the most powerful language ever...

right now i'm working on my own bot in C++ and Assembly

The question is invalid. You choose a language according to the task at hand.

Exactly, not like you'd goto Japan and only talk German because that's your favourite.

actually what Inf was saying is that a good programmer can code anything because the basis is the same, only some crap change from one to the other, but the way they work is similar. Therefore you chose a language for the needed task since once does it better then the other.

I, for one, worked more with and prefer web based programming and i`m working my way into java/c.

edit: lmao voted for autoit =)

While it's true that a true programmer does not choose a language based on their preferences, but rather how qualified it is for the task, of course everyone will still have a language that they're most comfortable with for their own tasks/needs.

Mine would probably be PHP, since I've been using it for almost ten years.

yep, PHP is my weapon of choice also. I`m also gonna be learning jquery starting after this exam session since I also have a nifty project that I would love to see jquery do it`s magic on.

Web-based : PHP for server side & javascript for HTML animations.
Application: Visual Basic & C Sharp.(Very poor with Visual C++)

I personally enjoy using both C# and C++ and I can do a few things with both now, but C# along with Microx's IDE definitely floats my boat. I created my first game with the XNA library which is using the .NET framework, so I owe my thanks to C#. ^-^

I've heard so many good things about jQuery these past few years, I'm tempted to grab a book on it soon.

I love the XNA framework! I keep procrastinating getting back into it, but I'm considering using it for a 2d game project with a friend of mine whenever he's on break from college. It's such a wonderful and useful framework :)

JQuery is basically js but neatly organised, unlike that chaotic js.. It has short, simple, usable functions to suite all your web programming needs and makes web designing approachable even for people that hate photoshop (like me)

Ah, then it's definitely worth looking into for me. Back when I worked with JavaScript, it was rather.. well, I don't know, I guess unorganized is the best word for it.

yep, that`s why i never bothered with js.. But JQuery is really worth it and from my sneak peak, it looks quite easy.
