Hi everyone,

I bought a new pc and a new internet company wich deliverd good fast internet. But now I can't play a descent mmorpg anymore, even facebook games are running slow. What could the cause be? I already used cc cleaner before anyone would say that.

Hi,

are you able to turn the old PC on, so that you can compare both PCs? If both PCs have a bad connection, it's caused by the internet provider or your router.

Otherwise if just your new PC has a bad connection, there is something wrong with this PC.

The old pc is already gone. Maybe it's usefull to say that when I just bought the pc, everything went smoothely, it was only after 1-2 weeks it was slow.
Maybe it's a technical problem with the internet cables ?

Yes, this is really useful to know. Is your system up to date? Network drivers installed and windows updates, too?

I would suggest to do a malware-check. Do you have an antivirus program installed on your PC?

its most likely a problem of your provider. the only thing which comes to my mind that causes a bad connection is if theres a background process that downloads stuff the whole time. check your pc for virus / check backgound processes.

also go to speed.io and see whats your current internet speed.

if your pc looks okay, contact your new internet provider and let them check your connection

These are bad results. Do you have any other PC or laptop for comparing?

I just used mcafee, but it isn't a very good program is it, and maybe I could try with my brothers laptop yes.

I wouldn't prefer it for scanning your PC. Use Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.

Update the program (it will ask you) and then do a fullscan over all data mediums (check all boxes).

The scan will take some time and please don't delete the found malware. Just let the program open and copy the result in your next post. I will analyze it.

Check your brother's connection and compare it with yours.

Why not? Did you run it and there was an error message?
