The pictures show the cube dungeon boss being a pet. Thus the boss was jerryrigged into the game (6.2).

Just because it's a 6.2 pserver doesn't mean the cube dungeon boss works. The model was simply ported into that client (which is a very simple thing to do).

To give functionality to a boss monster is a different story. I don't claim to know how it works (never looked into it), but I do know its harder than just porting it and forcing it as a pet.
