4274/4283 Crafting System

Anyone worked with it? I managed to find the dialog window, and I slightly remember how it worked from back in the alpha/beta days. But I don't remember what items you got for the crafting... I know you used mets/DBs/etc to raise your success rate (SDGs and such were worth much more than DBs, for some reason.), but what was it that you gained? Just a random item? Or what? Anywho, if I can't figure it out, I'm going to implement it for my own purposes as a whole new system. For those wanting to know what packet type it is, it's 1028, usually around length 24, depending on the amount of items you use.

I was under the impression it was never implemented as the controls are all in Chinese.

When you submit it sends a list of item UID's and the percentage in the window is increased by adding mets/db's but that's all I can really say on it as I heard it never was used at all in game so there was no purpose to it.

Back in the alpha/beta days it did something.. though it might have been the original +n system, as I'm starting to remember things. I remember it giving stones called CraftingStones or w/e that had values from +1 to +9, and the same StaticID (ItemID) list was replaced with +n stones. Open a 4274/4283 client and create an item with the static ID of any +n stone, and you'll get a CraftingStone.

Also, gems and things worked as well. Any rare item was able to be put in to give you a percentage boost. Unfortunately emeralds were only work like 0.10 percent or something.

Edit: CraftStone! That's what they were called.

So based on the % you would get a corresponding + stone?

Yeah, but it was never added for anything past +1, or at least not that I know of. They removed it because it ended up being too easy to make +1 stones for archers and such, so they just made people rely on +1 drops instead.

I had abit of a play around with it, my impression was that it didnt give + stones but improves quality of the first item placed in the window, which is why you cant place a super item in first, then you add various other items to improve your success rate. The chinese - English translation agrees with me on this aswell and doesnt mention anything about CraftStones/+1 any of that stuff.

Also having played basically from alpha i dont remember this being in at any point, the handling isnt in the binaries either i believe.

Strange, I wasn't even aware you could put equips in the window, hadn't ever tried.

Also, I dunno about the English client at that point, but zf (the chinese client) had it. But that's why I requested the 40xx client a while back, which no one seems to have saved.

Actually, it's fully functional in the binaries.

Interesting. Any idea on what it does in full in the binaries?

Basically exactly what you were talking about. You supply various items to increase your chance of getting a +n Stone.

Ah alright, then I'll implement it when I get home. Thanks for the help/info. :)
