ok yes i know there are many many tutorials on how to customize equpments and such. But they are only using photoshop. I am going to show you how to customize a simple item (a life potion bottle) using a 3d programs without doing the easy way and just editing the colors.
Mind you to turn it to a dds file and edit the size and such you will still need adobe photohop as well as the plugins that a few people have listed in thier threads.

To Install Bryce
1. Unzip the contents of the Bryce6 rar file. (you will need winrar to do this)
2. Run every one of the programs included in there. Doing so will give you the Basic Meshes, Basic Materials, and everything else you need to start out with.
3. Unzip the Meshes folder and put it somewhere. (it dont matter where just remember where you put it.
Ok lets start with the actual Tutorial.
How to create a Life Potion Bottle
Step 1. Start Bryce and go to File-Import Object.

2.Remember that Mesh folder you unzipped.Navigate the open box to that folder. go into the 3ds folder so you see this.

For this tutorial i am using one of the bottle 3 meshes. so scroll till you see the folder named bottle 3 and double click on it to open the folder.

Chose any one of the meshes in there. and double click on it. After a second or two it will load up a wire frame 3d picture of your item. It dont look like much right now but give us a few moments and it will.

Now we need to add some color to the Mesh. Click on the little arrow button next to the Edit as shown below. The edit may somewhat be hiding but it is there.

This will bring up the Material window. you should see this.

Dont look very much like something you would use for a mana potion bottle dose it? Gotta change that still. Click on where it says Archetictual and chose Glass.

Now what looks like a bunch of empty glass balls show. Nothing spectatular. Click on the left where it says Patterned. Now you will see some pretty colored ones.

Ooooooh shiney. Anyways highlight the one that looks a little like blood covered glass. 2nd row 2nd one from the left. Glass, Stained 3 is the name of it. Select it then click the checkmark.

Now you wont notice a change in the wire frame of your object. But if you look in the upper left hand corner you will have noticed the grey object is nolonger grey.

I am sure you are wondering what it looks like now dont you. Well click on the button i have circle in this next picture.

You will be waiting for a bit while it renders your picture. After it finishes it should look like this.

Look its done. Only thing left is to save the image so that you can edit it in photoshop. Do to that go to File, then Save Image and save it. Poof your done.

Now you can do alot with this program. I did the same bottle that i showed you in the tutorial. But i added a radial light inside. Turned the day to night. I also turned the ground from the rocky to flat white and look what i get.

your only limit is your immigination.
Give a thanks because since i am hosting this on my own private hoster (and not FHEo) if i notice an excessive amount of downloads and very few thanks i will remove it.
