First, I would suggest using SQL 2012, or 2008. It's your choice really just suggesting.

2nd. Download This : [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]

Click on that, it will run a query. Change the User and Pass there.

( Just to add, password can fail in changing, so if it do, try changing just the user thing )

but also after u do this u need to change INI Files and Server Patch Config.

Good Luck

So but what better to use 2012 or 2008?:)

You can either use them, all i've got told that 2005 isn't the best. Again, I got told, not proving. So i'm just following what i got told by people better then me.

Yet, i'm using 2012 One and i have no troubles with it, it works perfect.

Simply do the google search for it, the very first link will be it from microsoft directly you can get the MSSQLEXPR and then you can get the Management Studio for it

(Uploading cause i don't know where i got it before, hehe.)

Here's the link of 2012 Express Edition With Managament Tools. I'm using this one my self, works perfect.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...] -> Go there... Then you'll see a

"search at microsoft.com"

Type there SQL u want, and it will give you results =) and then just simply DL it.

Did they delete your Char and Users_Master tables? That seems to be going around. No one seems to know how exactly the "crackers" are getting through- I did change my SQL logins between the first attack and the second, and my tables got deleted again anyway. Does anyone have any idea as to the root cause of these attacks (deletions, assuming the same thing happened to you as to so many others) so we can shut them down before they happen??

First off 2008 is the best for multiple reasons, 2005 is outdated and provides low security, and 2012 is still new and has some holes in it.

Second, close the MSSQL port, there is no real reason for it to be open.

Port is closed, in my case at least. Any other ideas? *Sorry to hijack the thread, but it is semi-on-topic since the OP had the same issue*
