do you have virtual ram? in fact graphic cards often "burrow" ram from your main ram to be faster - so it tells you in the computer details you have 512mb, but only have 256mb :P

nothing special

I got a Question, too: I bought a Notebook with 4gb RAM(had Vista included), but I want Windows XP, i got an OLD Windows XP SP2 CD, if I install that Windows XP CD would i have 4gb RAM then?

you could only use 3.25 gb ram , exept you had a windows xp 64 bit edition

Is there anything else in that x64 version of windows xp? except having more than 3,25 gb ram?

it is possible to play some games with the support of 64 bit grafics , but there are very few of them , also its a little bit more buggy AND afaik only available in english

but if you don't have a vista 64 bit version , you also won't use the full 4 gb but only 3.25 :)

but xp should be faster anyways , but be carefull , problably not all drivers are avaiable for XP

Switching to Linux may be the best idea. :)

But with Linux you cant play all the games, right?
If got Vista 32 bit but it says I've 4 gb RAM, so.. I dont really like vista but I want all my GB of RAM and also Its a lot of work to switch because Ive to look for all the drivers for XP.

Errr, your computer can utilize the full 4GB using Windows Vista 32Bit. Google for Software Memory Hole (Remapping).

But 6 GB with an 32Bit Windows OS is impossible.
