Watch Dogs looks to be the best we've had today

Today, Ubisoft announced a whole new game among their presentation of continued franchises. The game is called Watch Dogs, and it definitely looks like a possible candidate for a Best of E3 award.

The game is set in a fictional American city called Windy City in the year 2013. The digital age is ripe in this world, where the US is governed by a ctOS, or a central Operating System. This system tracks and records every digital action by everyone in the country, putting everyone's information online, and vulnerable to attack. The story follows Aiden Pierce, a man with an ability to hack into any system from anywhere. Gameplay footage shows a scene leading up to an assassination, in this scene we see Aiden jamming communications, eavesdropping on phonecalls, controlling traffic lights and we receive hints at the ability to contol trains, access electronic devices within view and much more.

The gameplay looks to be a standard action-adventure set in a sandbox environment. Later in the preview we see some unique co-op play, where another player takes up a role supporting Aiden in his escape after killing his target. Graphically, the game looks incredibly detailed, and reminiscent of the Unreal Engine 3's Samaritan Demo, as you can see in the game demo below.

With no release date as of yet, this game can likely expect another year or so of hype and anticipation, even after it's two years of development at Ubisoft Montreal.

The best announcement of E3 so far, in my opinion. Looks incredibly good.

Agreed! Can't wait for more news, though it looks like we'll be waiting until at least the start of next year before a release.
