Speed Hack

I cannot figure out how to do a speed hack. I found 3 threads, each saying different things, and none of them work.

One I found said to edit the map, another said edit the speed on a piece of armor you're wearing, and another said to edit your weapon. I tried all 3 of these, and none of them worked. Can somebody link me up with a tutorial?

Does changing it to 4 mean 4x faster? I'll try it when I get home, but I'd like to know what it does exactly so I know what to put...

I'm not sure if it's exactly 4X the normal speed, but yes lvl 4 would be faster than lvl 3 speed. If you run to0 fast mobs can't catch up. Unless, you increase the speed of the mobs (more likely to DC). You will be invisible while running with any speed besides lvl 1 (normal) speed. However, to a bystander you will appear to stand still at the point you started running. Please have the courtesy to hit thanks to the prior posters for providing the answers.
