[Up-Coming] 1.0 PrivateServer

Sup homies. I know there are tons and tons of newbie privateservers out there,and only a few ones left. But have you ever seen anyone like the old Conquer,except Qonquer? Well, should'nt we bring one up guys? A year or so , I saw a poll at the TQ Digital Conquer Forum, and 572 people voted Yes, and I think it was 20 or less peole that voted No, on a suggestion about TQ creating a Old-Conquer based server.

Now, I hope I catched your intressest. I'm going to start , either on a source from scratch or an really basic one, or at LOTF and spend atleast three weeks rewriting it ( rewrote it to use INI's, use lesser CPU and orginazed better, but its lost since computer virus ) .

Im going to use an Crypto from an 4346 source, and make it easy to understand but still good codes. I think it will be exactly as it was before, at the old days, then we have polls for each things on the forum, such as ExpRate, DropRate, then later on, Funcions,Ideas,Quests, etc etc. In that way the community will feel they did their job too in being a member of the server.

Now, back to the real point. I need a team! As a bunch of you know, I am a coder, but I cant do it all myself. I wish to have someone with atleast some C# knowledge, will be even better if they were good at it. Also, we just dont need coders. Website designers, in-game editer ( photoshop ) , forum mod(s), In-game helper(s), Supporter(s), Live Helper(s), and I can go on and on and on.

Please make a suggestion here if you would like any of those spots, right now only website designer and coders are neccesserry.

I really wish this server will turn out great!

And btw guys, please try to keep this thread clean , please? I dont want unneccessery posts like "Looks good" or something like that.

Well I could be a good in-game helper, and i will be every day on :o

I suppose you have the packet structures? Or are you just going to use the oldest structs available and then modify them to work with the old client? :rolleyes:

However after you've got those, I'd suggest you to start from scratch and have nothing related to LOTF in it. It's piece of crap, it shouldn't be used at all; Unless you're trying to prove how not to code a server.

Yeah, thats true. But I dont really have that much experience in coding a source from scratch. I succeed on creating my very own source from scratch and login, some noobie commands and some packets ( level up , spawn to other , and some more ) .

Well the server was badly written ( to me ) and I got alot of help from Haydz, so I guess im not ready. Besides, I was alone, so someone aside me and it can turn out good.

About what source. Im not really that intressed in LOTF,but it still drags me to it. Im just real nice with it even tho its shitty coded. How about this; give me a week and I recode it as much as I can,show you it, and you from then suggest if its worth to make a server out of it. Also, so you know, I will only keep some packets, logging in and other stuffs, and totally delete Friends, Guilds, GW , and all that stuffs and my team code it. That way we learn alot and by the time, we'll rewrite alot so it works better. I think it would be a huge learning experience and maybe we can show it to people whos intrested to create their own source.

As I said, we only need coders with alot of experience or website designers. I know you, no offence, but you arent that good coder, ( I know you take no offence) but I'll be happy to code infront of you over teamviewer , so you can learn.

And for the website,this is what ive though:

An cool intro, as FireBlaze made for his server ( FireBlaze is already accepted if he wanna do this one )

Website designer ( Good experience with PhotoShop)

Forum handler ( Will be tested ALOT before getting mod )

Peoples who advertaise about the server, maybe in signatures or on MSN.

The crypto for the old client is still the same, just different structures me and a few people were considering it but theres nowhere to log packets from and all structures would be complete trial and error.

Oh and by the way, does anyone have the old client? I might be able to pull somethings from the ASM code and compare it with the latest, packet structures, well atleast how they're formed. (However this would only be the login packets tops, since there is no possible way to record those packets)

Seems good so far, we'll make a good source. Also with Young on our side the server will be 24/7 , with a good ping.

The resources your gonna need just simply aren't available for this type of project. Good luck anyhow :/
