Private Server?

I am trying to set up my own private server and i have looked at both ~LightRuler~ and playboy94 guides and i can't seem to get it to work, when making an account there is no password option for me? and i just cant get the QO.exe to work for my server it just stays on the QO server...can anyone help?

I myself didnt download the QO client, I used one from someone's guide. But mine has a program called CIDLoader in there which allows me to connect so have a read up on that.
