Privat Server Down

Toxic WoW, along with WoWScape, WoWGasm, Chaos Crusade, Ani WoW, WoW Fusion, Burning WoW and some others have received a DCMA from Blizzard.
All admins from pserver are forced to close our servers.

:( Damn das wars dann wohl.

I just today donated $10 so it sucks for me.

I know you haven't see me on the forums in a while, however that is apart from the subject of the matter.
Many may have guessed from the topic title that Blizzard has finally taken action against World of Warcraft private servers. They recently had communication with our servers' host, SoftLayer. In fact, it was Blizzard's lawyer who submitted the "abuse" to the SoftLayer. Therefore, all servers will be down until further notice. I don't know what else to say at the very moment, but I will do my best to keep you guys updated.

EDIT-1: Blizzard is shutting down ALL private servers, not only us. Sorry if I failed to make that clear.

wow-fusion, chaos crusade, toxic-wow.. all the big ones are already gone, i mean they are down right NOW!... i think the smaller ones will follow.. its just a matter of time.. cheers!

They will never fully shutdown private servers. If a big emulator such as Ascent gets shut down (WHen they open it back up), they will lay low for awhile, and work on it underground. They will most likely change their SVN and release it that way, and forbid repacks.

Well As for Toxic WoW.
They are currently working to getting the server up some way or another.
I would not worry about Toxic WoW as for other servers I would not know!

This is bullshit. The servers are not in violation of the DCMA. People that warez the game software are in violation of some laws, but not the servers, and they can't be held responsible for their users as they have no way to verify the status of the clients on their server.

i would assume that whoever BUYS the game, they can do whatever they want with it.Aside from making profit off of it by reselling, or massively distribute to it, I think it's fine... It IS ours after all... I don't see why we can't modify it, or play it whenever or wherever we want

Actually, now that I've been reading some recent court precedents of blizzard/WoW, it would not surprise me if this was the "end" of private servers.
Blizzard actually won a lawsuit against Wowglider, saying that making a bot that works for their game is infringing on their property rights. WTF? Blizzard is paying off judges or something. This shit is getting outrageous. Blizzard is turning into another fucking scamming, cheating micro$oft.
