Alright eric0584,
your application looks fine at first view, though you answered some questions insufficiently or in a too short way. But regarding some of your statistics that is not crucial for the decision. Your joindate and the proportion of your posts and thanks tells me that you are at least a little competent or even very competent. Also your diction and phrasing in English is adequate for a position as a moderator (discovered only a few mistakes).
However, what makes me unsure, and with that introduction we get to the negative aspects, is your activity. If itīs true and you pay the board a visit of about 2-3 hours that would be advantageous but your postcount compared to your joindate decreases the worth of this statement. A moderator has to contribute more than a handful posts a week and by checking your posts I noticed that this applies to you.
Now last but not least we need to take a look into the sectionīs situation. It indeed seems to lack moderators at this time since a few complaints came up lately. My advice to the administration would be to wait if someone else applies for the position in the near future and if not, to bring some organisation into the section as soon as possible, appoint you.
The conclusion:
In general I would give agreement with the decision to appoint you under the condition that you show far more activity than you did before.
Regards,
John Dread
